News from the Boulevard

July, 2006 - Picture & Frame Industries

Dear Friends,

There's never a dull day on the Boulevard, there have been some incredibly hot days, but never dull. Here are a few highlights of what's going on:

  • As the more astute will have already surmised, most of this envelope is filled with a new moulding price list. If you think about it it's really not unexpected. It has been two years since our last price list (where most items were reduced).

  • Our friends at Crescent are keeping things interesting. We / they are in the midst of a massive "SKU RATIONALIZATION" program. "What the heck is that? " you might ask. This is the final step in consolidating the two lines, Crescent and Tru-Vue into one. Many very similar colors have been eliminated, some face papers that are no longer available have been discontinued, some name and number changes are taking place. It really is a pretty big change. What this means to you is very little. At PFI the new numbers are in our system but old numbers will still work, old names will still be recognized too. A new pricing supplement is enclosed for the Select and International Whitecore lines. Believe me no "Hot Sellers" have been discontinued, so unfortunately for us, we will probably have inventory on the discontinued items til well past the next presidential election. Just ask. Please don't let anyone get you into a flap over this. We are here to help you. It's business as usual at PFI when it comes to the line Crescent line.

  • As some of you have already noticed your foam board may be coming in a brown box that says Elmers. As the remaining Alcan Foam-Cor is used up we are replacing the line with the former Hunt-Beinfang, now Elmers line. We are using the same stock numbers and the same pricing, the only thing that will change is the product will be of much higher quality.

  • New moulding is also on the way. Wave one is Studios' Beaches, Ming & Array, and wave two is our own NDN Gravure Series & Framericas' Stainless, wave three is Roma (and I won't bother you with the names yet). Where do they come up with these names anyway? Array? This gets us to September and that's all the moulding introductions for 2006.

  • In case you were wondering, yes, there is a Museum Glass promotion starting soon. Isn't there always? Details coming from Tru-Vue soon.

That's all that will fit on the page. Thanks for your business and continued support. We hope you all have a good summer and an even better fall.

Chris & Reed
